City/State Norfolk, VA Work Shift First (Days) Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Power Plant Mechanic Position Status: Full-time Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, VA The Power Plant Mechanic is experienced in all phases of steam generation, maintenance of boilers, chillers, and auxiliary equipment. Responsibilities include monitoring power plant equipment; reading and interpreting control circuits, schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and specifications to determine proper operation. This individual tests, maintains, and repairs power plant equipment; monitors contractor's work to ensure quality and code compliance. Standard Working Hours: 1st shift - 7 AM - 3:30 PM. Holidays and Weekend Shifts are required as scheduled. Rotating shifts, as needed. Mission Essential Personnel Minimum Requirements: * Refrig Recovery Cert Type II, or Universal certification required. * Refrig Recovery Cert Type III preferred. * Driver's License * Backflow Prevention Device tester's license required in most facilities.
