WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB: The American Red Cross is seeking a dynamic and experienced User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Manager to join our enterprise digital strategy and marketing team. This role is crucial in supporting applications and UX that help deliver the American Red Cross's mission through public-facing applications at redcross.org and RedCrossBlood.org. The UAT Manager will lead a team of three testers and actively participate in testing activities. The work location for this position is 100% virtual/work from home. While the position can be worked from anywhere in the United States, the preferred work hours are on an East Coast schedule. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities): Leadership and Management: • Lead and manage a team of three UAT testers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations. • Develop, implement, and maintain UAT strategies, policies, and procedures that align with industry best practices and ensure high-quality testing standards. • Coordinate the planning, monitoring, and control of testing activities, ensuring alignment with project timelines, objectives, and goals. • Collaborate with stakeholders (project managers, developers, business analysts) to develop test objectives, strategies, and plans that meet project needs. • Work closely with scrum teams representing diverse lines of business (LOBs) to ensure seamless integration and alignment of testing activities. • Estimate testing efforts, allocate resources effectively, and work with management to secure necessary support for the testing process. • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment, promoting continuous learning and professional development. • Provide regular status updates to senior management on testing progress, challenges, and outcomes, via detailed reports and presentations. Testing Execution: • Support the three LOB UAT leads in their testing activities while also performing these tasks independently as needed. • Understand, document, and communicate testing requirements clearly to the team and stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment. • Provide accurate test estimates and create, review, and execute test cases that provide comprehensive coverage of all functional and non-functional scenarios. • Ensure proper configuration management, maintain traceability of tests, and keep accurate records throughout the testing process. • Manage the test environment by ensuring it is correctly configured before test execution and is maintained throughout the testing phase. • Schedule tests, monitor progress, measure results, and control the quality of the product to ensure defects are identified and managed. • Adapt test plans as needed based on evolving conditions and project requirements, ensuring the testing process remains agile and effective. • Create detailed summary reports on test status, highlighting key findings, issues, and recommendations for improvements. Technical Expertise: • Provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and resolving complex test problems, using industry best practices and available testing tools. • Utilize expertise in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) for content publishing, reuse, and syndication processes to support the testing and quality assurance efforts. • Ensure a solid understanding of page layout and composition principles to ensure content accuracy during UAT testing. • Apply knowledge of JavaScript, Python, HTML, CSS, JS frameworks, and JSON to address issues that arise in test cases or test environments. • Utilize collaboration tools (e.g., Atlassian products, BrowserStack) to facilitate smooth communication, issue tracking, and environment management. • Utilize intermediate knowledge of integrations with other Adobe Experience Cloud products to evaluate system interactions and overall user experience. Quality Assurance and Process Improvement: • Develop and maintain comprehensive quality assurance standards, processes, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement in testing outcomes. • Ensure the creation, execution, and ongoing optimization of test plans, scripts, and quality assurance activities throughout the project lifecycle. • Elevate defects and issues to management and test leads for review and timely resolution, minimizing project risk and delays. • Analyze defects, compare them against requirements, and identify gaps, making recommendations for process improvements and system enhancements. • Participate in production validation activities to ensure accurate and smooth migration of code to the production environment. • Provide operational support by researching, developing, and communicating solutions to complex testing issues, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines. • Participate in various project activities, including task prioritization, schedule development, planning, and issue resolution to keep the project on track. Additional Tasks: • Focus on key projects including method of payment implementations; consent and cookie management; and a large-scale digital transformation project. • Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, ADA) during User Acceptance Testing to guarantee that the digital product is usable by all users, including those with disabilities. • Coordinate with the broader project team to align testing processes within Agile and SAFe frameworks, ensuring that iterative development cycles and program increments are adhered to. • Facilitate ongoing communication with stakeholders to ensure the project's objectives and requirements are clearly understood and met. Scope: people manager that interprets and administers policies, process, and procedures that may affect sections and subordinate units. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (required/minimum qualifications): • Bachelor's degree in marketing, computer science, information technology, engineering or related field. • 7-10 years of experience in user acceptance testing (UAT) ideally within a commerce or content publishing environment. • 5-7 years of proven experience in leading and managing a team of testers with strong leadership skills. • Proven ability to manage UAT processes within Agile frameworks. Agile certification or formal training is highly desirable. • Experience conducting User Acceptance Testing with a focus on accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG). • Experience in software quality assurance or systems/application testing. • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager is necessary. • Excellent verbal/written communication skills; customer relationship building skills. • Ability to adapt/work effectively with various stakeholders in challenging situations. • Desire to participate in/help build a team-oriented environment. • Knowledge of Red Cross structure/operations is preferred. This is a term-limited, benefits eligible position expected to last 24 months from date of the disaster with the opportunity to extend based on business need. This is a remote position with frequent travel to impacted communities will be required. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): The LA Wildfires Long-Term Recovery Community Recovery Manager (CRM) reports to the Senior Manager, Community Recovery for the LA Wildfires and serves as a key support in a Red Cross region when a Recovery Program is implemented post-disaster. This CRM will primarily focus on supporting impacted communities in Malibu, Topanga, and Palisades and play a key role in cultivating and maintaining relationships with partner organizations of all types, providing support, training, and technical expertise in community settings where communities, organizations and individuals come together to work collaboratively toward recovery. Managers collaborate with regional and chapter employees and volunteers to build capacity in the local community for the disaster cycle. This role will work closely with regional, chapter, and National Headquarters volunteers and employees. On January 8, 2025, the Los Angeles Wildfires, stoked by the Santa Ana winds, eventually burned large swaths of highly urbanized sections of Los Angeles County. As January draws to a close, the two massive fires that destroyed more than 16,000 structures in California are nearly extinguished, but for those impacted, recovery is just beginning. The American Red Cross is working around the clock to support impacted households, and alongside our partners, we'll continue to be there for months and years to come. The American Red Cross is standing up a long-term recovery program to support impacted communities, providing recovery programming and services to individuals, households, and communities affected by these wildfires.
