Job Description

Position Overview

As a Staff Estimator, Renewable Engineering and Project Management, you will provide a wide range of estimating services for Invenergy's growing portfolio of utility scale clean and renewable energy projects located across the United States and internationally. This position is located at our headquarters in Chicago, Illinois.

Responsibilities

Act as a key member of the Project Management team, develop project procurement and construction costs Analyze historical procurement and construction costs to inform estimating needs Contribute to ongoing revisions of estimating tools and procedures. Collaborate with multiple new business units to organize bid and proposal schedules during initial development phase of company projects. Develop bid proposal materials and participate in pre-bid meetings with clients and contractors Coordinate site investigations in order to identify issues or concerns on projects Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors.


Requirements


Bachelor's degree required, preferably a technical degree such as engineering or construction management technology Background in solar and wind construction and/or development preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities

Responsibilities:Research and develop algorithms for robustly perceiving the world using inputs from multiple modalities.Validates, test, and integrate solutions on self-driving trucks.

Experience Should Include:4+ years of relevant industry experience or equivalent academic background.Experience writing production-quality code in C++.Experience with factor graphs and non-linear estimation techniques commonly used in robotics.

Preferred Experience: Experience with a graph optimization library (e.g. Gtsam, g2o, Ceres).Experience with processing camera, lidar and/or inertial sensor data.Experience with sensor fusion.

+ Skilled in the of development, theory, design, modeling, and implementation of sensor fusion algorithms based on inertial sensors + external aiding. eg. Kalman filters, batch least squares, complementary filters, etc...

+ Deep understanding of kinematics, dynamics and equations of motion for systems.

+ Experience with platform modeling that includes kinematics for joint motion, rotary sensing (encoders), and inertial state propagation.

**Description**

In this role you will partner with sensor & actuator HW engineers, control designers, and embedded FW resources to develop motion sensor processing algorithms. Responsibilities include: - Build a robust state estimation and sensor fusion algorithm architecture allowing for exploration of challenging safety critical environments. - Develop extensive and scalable testing, tuning and evaluation systems for these algorithms - Perform simulation and analysis to support use cases and requirements/specs - Maintain a positive relationship with internal customers, hardware/software teams, and external vendors - Drive sw/hw algs/sensor integration and tuning on a host of platforms. - Develop test/validation plans and lead execution of these activities - Consult on other applications of motion sensors, algorithms and estimation (various sensor-system applications)

**Education & Experience**

B.S. in Engineering + minimum of 10 years of industry experience or M.S. in Engineering + minimum of 5 years of industry experience

**Additional Requirements**

+ - Experience implementing and releasing software/algorithm designs into products.
