Our company is looking for a Director of Engineering who will lead our engineering department. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring all operations within the department, hiring and training new team members, implementing engineering practices and goals, and planning and coordinating engineering projects. You will set departmental objectives, requirements, and timeframes and research innovative technologies for improving the team's performance. This position will require excellent customer communication skills with an emphasis on creating project plans that ensure quality deliverables on time and within budget.
Additionally, you will manage the department's budgeting and expenses, oversee the development of engineering products and processes, and establish strategies that aim to improve overall business success. Ultimately, you will build and foster business relationships with internal and external stakeholders and provide motivation and guidance to team members.
To ensure success as a Director of Engineering, you should have an outstanding technical background, leadership, communication, strategic thinking, and project management skills.
Director of Engineering Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee all operations and aspects of the engineering department
Organize and supervise the hiring, training, and scheduling of team members
Establish and implement engineering practices, processes, and goals
Build and foster business relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Develop and coordinate engineering projects and strategies
Manage and oversee the department's financing, expenses, and budgeting
Lead engineering projects by setting objectives, requirements, and timeframes
Research and implement innovative technologies to improve the department's success
Evaluate the performance of engineering team members
Collaborate with the upper management about important matters and any issues that may arise
Coordinate and monitor engineering projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budgets

Understand advances in engineering software technology and how we can apply them to customer projects
Director of Engineering Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering field
10+ years of working experience in an engineering environment
In-depth knowledge of engineering practices and processes in multiple engineering disciplines
Outstanding leadership and motivation skills

As a service organization, the director of engineering will have a deep understating on how to deliver on commitments, grow customer accounts, and be mindful of project billability. This is a remote position, but occasional travel will be required.

The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is $159,240 to $286,560 based on a full-time schedule. Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. This position will be eligible for Kyndryl's discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl's applicable plans. About The Role
We're looking for an experienced Director of DevOps & Infrastructure to lead and scale the foundational systems that power Fora's platform. In this role, you'll own the reliability, scalability, and developer experience of our infrastructure - including CI/CD pipelines, cloud architecture, observability systems, and core platform security. You'll partner closely with Engineering, Product, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure our systems are fast, secure, and built to scale with our business.

Key Responsibilities
Partner closely with Product and Design leadership to shape the roadmap and ensure engineering priorities are aligned with business goals and user needs.
Lead the technical direction and execution of our infrastructure roadmap, including cloud architecture (e.g. AWS/GCP), CI/CD tooling, IaC, observability, system security, and developer experience.

4+ years in a senior engineering leadership role (e.g. Engineering Manager, Tech Lead Manager, or Director), with a track record of scaling systems and teams.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to navigate cross-functional collaboration, articulate technical tradeoffs, and align engineering efforts with business priorities.
Experience with distributed systems, and modern web technologies ideally in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.
Strong understanding of testing strategies, quality assurance practices, and system reliability.

The Director, Laboratory and Bioinformatics Research and Development, Oncology role is to lead a group of cross-functional teams to support the development, validation and execution of clinical and research use products, develop high performing teams, and create new revenue streams by establishing and maintaining high quality and productive collaborative relationships with Company business and pharmaceutical partners, other commercial collaborators, CROs, KOLs, and academic groups. The individual also provides strategic leadership in development and commercialization of transformative molecular diagnostic products and tools for clinical and research purposes. Additionally, the individual leads publication efforts across translation research, drug development and clinical utility space to support commercial success of these products.
**Primary duties and Responsibilities**
Work with a cross functional group of teams to support the development of comprehensive molecular diagnostics tests. Lead the development of bioinformatics pipelines, data analysis, translational research, publication and data reporting efforts.
+ Supervises, directs and coordinates day-to-day activities of workers engaged in Bioinformatics, laboratory research and development, data science and translational research activities.

**Job Requirements**
+ PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, Statistics, Biology, Biochemistry or similar field required.
+ Prior experience in leading Bioinformatics, translational research, and/or laboratory-based research and development teams.
+ Demonstrated experience in processing of high-volume genomic data generation and/or analysis including from technologies such as microarrays or NGS required. NGS data analysis highly preferred.
+ Knowledge of human immune system and cancer biology required, direct experience in cancer research, including a working understanding of computational approaches for cancer genome and transcriptome analysis, highly preferred.
+ Prior research experience and academic publications in data analysis for immune profiling and computational methods for immune response biomarker development in tissue and blood is a plus.
+ Knowledge of commercial and open-source databases and proficiency in utilizing data from public resources such as TCGA, ICGC, COSMIC, HGMD, ClinVar etc. as part of data analysis or method development highly preferred.
+ Experience in R, Python, Unix shell scripting or similar, with ability to understand and modify existing code as well as develop new scripts.

Job Summary
Under the general direction of the City Engineer, manages transportation capital improvement program projects and performs traffic and transportation studies to maintain and improve mobility and safety of Pflugerville's transportation system. Capable of exercising engineering knowledge to review, analyze, discuss and make recommendations regarding a variety of complex engineering assignments within defined methods, procedures and practices., architects, developers, and sub-contractors; frequently interfaces with City management and other City employees.
Essential Job Functions and Other Important Duties
* Supervising project managers overseeing CIP projects.
* Managing projects directly from design to construction, including:
* Reviewing engineering plans, studies, specifications, and project manuals and providing feedback and recommendations.
* Serving as main point of contact and task assigner to coordinate the work of consultants (e.g., surveyors, design engineers, general engineering consultants, geotechnical, pavement, drainage, real estate) to ensure seamless project delivery.
* Maintaining a detailed log of action items for projects to monitor and track progress towards key milestones and critical dates.
* Reviewing plans, specifications, and cost estimates and preparing review comments.
* Pro-actively coordinating and maintaining productive relationships with public agencies impacted by projects (e.g., TxDOT, Central Texas Turnpike System, Travis and Williamson counties, City of Austin, City of Round Rock).
* Initiating and maintaining momentum for utility evaluation and relocation by private, non-profit, and public utility providers impacted by projects (e.g., Oncor, Atmos, Manville WSC)
* Selecting consultants and contractors through RFP, RFQ, IDIQ, competitive bid, low bid, and other procurement processes and reviewing contracts and agreements.
* Working directly with impacted landowners and coordinating ROW and easement acquisition with city staff and real estate consultants.
* Engaging with the public on CIP projects in multiple ways including organizing and attending open houses, responding to emails and phone calls, and distributing notices of meetings and project information to residents, businesses, schools, and other institutions impacted by the projects.
* Working closely with the public information office (PIO) to disseminate project information to the public via established city social media, billing, email, and text channels.
* Coordinating with the Planning & Development Services staff, land development engineers, and developers on land development projects impacted by and impacting CIP projects.
* Identifying critical paths, potential issues, and options for resolution and recommending design strategies and policy changes and interpretations.
* Reviewing and signing invoices and pay apps, monitoring spending and budgets, reviewing professional service agreements, and monitoring and managing project costs.
* Continually seeking opportunities to increase customer satisfaction, deepen collaborative department and consultant relationships, and streamline the CIP project delivery process.
* Continually staying up to date with innovation and innovative methods in engineering
* Leading or assisting with grant and other funding applications.
Job Qualifications
Formal Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or a similar field.
Relatable Work Experience: Three (3) years of experience as a project manager with emphasis in the management of design and construction of capital improvement projects (e.g., roadway, drainage, water and wastewater infrastructure).
Training, Licenses, or Certifications: Professional engineering (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with ability to obtain a PE license in 1-year is required. Valid Class C Texas driver's license and good driving record.
Preferred Qualifications: Project Management Professional (PMP). Experience managing drainage CIP projects and drainage programs and supervising employees, interns, and/or volunteers. Master's or other advanced degree relevant to the position.
