Locality pay varies by duty location. A fully trained CBP Officer is eligible for up to $45,000 in overtime pay in addition to the starting salary.
Grade level eligibility and salaries vary depending upon background, including experience and education, and duty location of the opportunity. This is a career ladder position with a grade level progression of GS-5, GS-7, GS-9, GS-11, and GS-12. You will be eligible for a promotion to the next higher grade level (without re-applying) once you successfully complete 52 weeks in each grade level. Promotions are at the discretion of the agency.
Officers are eligible to select from an array of federal employment benefits that include health, dental and other insurance plans, a generous annual and sick leave program, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, a retirement plan akin to a traditional and ROTH 401(k) offering.
LOCATION INCENTIVES: If you accept one of the duty locations listed below, you may be eligible to receive an additional 15%-25% of your salary each year for the first three (3) years of employment in addition to any overtime pay. The role you’ll contribute:
The Nurse Manager is a specialized health care professional who adheres to the goals, philosophy, standards, and guidelines of the health care organization. Reporting to the department Director, this role collaborates with the Director and other leaders to provide leadership to the unit(s) assigned by coordinating the care and services of selected patient populations across the continuum of illness. The Nurse Manager promotes effective utilization of health care resources, monitors these resources, and assumes a leadership role with the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal clinical and resource outcomes. This position reflects the policies and procedures of the nursing department and manages, oversees, and/or coordinates programs such as Shared Governance Program, which may include Nurse Advisory Council, Peer Review, Evidence-Based Practice (EBP), and applications and maintenance for Pathway to Excellence and Magnet designation, among others.
The Nurse Manager focuses on daily and long-term performance outcomes and the operation of the unit through measurements of the department. Collaborating with the Director, the Nurse Manager assists with departmental staffing, scheduling, patient care activities, quality strategies, throughput initiatives, the enhancement of patient satisfaction, and employee engagement. This role also involves assisting the Director with the hiring process of new personnel, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations. Assists Director in interviewing new candidates, coordinating peer interviews, choosing agency contract staff, coaching, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations.
Clinical and Quality Performance:
Ensures that staff complete all required documentation including but not limited to IPOCS, occurrence reports, and medication PPID processes,
Performs all unit audits to include but not limited to infection control, chart documentation, and other quality audits as assigned by Director.
Staff Education:
Contributes to the professional development of self, peers, colleagues and others.
Shares knowledge and skills with colleagues and others.
Patient Flow:
Ensures and promotes efficiency through ED throughput initiatives with timely discharges, timely bed assignments, and timely admissions from the ED.
Promotes staff to utilize the one call process consistently.
Other Responsibilities:
Assesses, develops, implements and evaluates a comprehensive plan of care through a multidisciplinary care team process in conjunction with the patient/family in internal and external settings.
Comprehensively assess patients' goals as well as their biophysical, psychosocial, environmental and discharge planning needs and financial status.
Qualifications

· Completion of a Bachelor’s degree program in Nursing.
