Scope of Responsibility: · Manage domestic and international import & export shipments for key customers. · Book shipments with steamship lines and/or truckers. · Coordinate with loading facilities, truckers, ocean carriers, and other vendors in the US and internationally. · Prepare required documentation for each shipment. · Track and trace cargo. · Update all systems with shipping and customer information. · Provide constant communication and updates to customers. · Manage all pricing for key customer accounts to ensure that correct information is in the system for billing. · Send invoices to customer to ensure timely payment. · Provide support to sales through research and customer support. · Assist with obtaining ocean and drayage rates from vendors. · Other related tasks as assigned. Essential Skills · Ability to multi-task. · Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and interact with all levels of management, clients, and vendors. · The ability to work in a team-oriented, and fast-paced environment. · Requires attention to detail, excellent problem solving, conflict resolution, and organizational skills. · High level of energy, lots of enthusiasm, and a strong sense of urgency. · Cold chain operational knowledge preferred. · Knowledge of USDA/FDA regulations preferred. Education and Experience · Bachelor's Degree or related experience. · At least 1 to 2 years of ocean import and export experience with an NVOCC or freight forwarder is preferred. · 1 to 2 years experience in customer service related roles. · Experience with working with ocean carriers preferred · Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). · Experience in Descartes management systems a plus. · Knowledge of refrigerated shipping operations is preferred. · Knowledge of incoterms. Language Requirements: · Candidates must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently. Proficiency in Spanish or another second language is preferred.
