Addiction Medicine (AM) Counselors provide engagement, counseling, and case management services to members that are struggling with substance use disorders. AM Counselors are generalists who are flexible in their job duties serving a population that has a variety of needs including treatment for substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health disorders, and support and education for their family members. AM Counselors function within a multidisciplinary treatment team to support members that present in all phases of readiness for change. Essential Responsibilities: Provide high quality clinical services (individual, group, and family) to our adult and adolescent members through screening, assessment, diagnosis, and formulation/implementation of service plan in outpatient or residential settings. Provide all care in accordance with accepted best practice standards and department protocols (including supervision). Provide case management through appropriate triaging and referrals, consultation with other providers, contact with members and their families, and coordinating with outside agencies. Job Title: Guidance Counselor - Regional School Counselor- Must live in East PDX/Hood River area 25/26 School Year Regional School Counselor Under the general supervision of the administrator in charge of special programs, provide students, parents, administrators, and other teaching staff with information scheduling, developing the personal education plan, and provide other school counseling services to an assigned region at Baker Web Academy. Essential Performance Responsibilities Assists students in making course and subject selections, as well as with evaluating career interests and choices. Assists in the scheduling of classes. Coordinates with administrators and other teaching staff members to ascertain individual student's abilities and needs, including students with special needs, and to familiarize stakeholders with guidance services. Assists with the registration and orientation students who are new to the school regarding procedures and educational opportunities. Assists with the Baker Web Academy's dropout prevention efforts. Serves as a ready resource to students to provide counseling that will lead each student to increased personal growth, self-understanding, and maturity. Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research, and by maintaining professional relationships with members of institutions of higher learning and the business community. Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping and providing student information to prospective colleges and employers, as required by district procedures and applicable laws. Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards The counselor works from their home office and student center. The work environment is often controlled and quiet, but will also frequently include moderate to loud noise. The work environment may include exposure to unpleasant interior temperatures, dirt, communicable diseases, and distraught or difficult individuals. The work requires regular focus on a computer screen and precise control of fingers and hand movements. Bending, stooping, kneeling and lifting up to 20 pounds and may also be required on occasion.
