The Role
The Loan Processor plays an important role in ensuring loans are processed in a timely, compliant, and accurate manner. The Loan Processor works closely with Ascent team members, loan originators, sponsors, borrowers, and third-party vendors to guide contracts and loans from the application stage through to closing, and funding. The ideal candidate is collaborative, highly communicative, and has a strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
The Work
Update loan data and documentation in our Loan Origination System (LOS) to ensure timely, accurate and detailed records.
Manage loan pipeline for both efficiency and compliance to internal standards and/or SLA.
Obtain, review, and organize files necessary for borrower entity, property, and loan documentation, including, but not limited to entity documentation, sponsor financial statements, construction budgets, plans and permits.
Order, review and organize third-party documentation, including property profiles, title insurance, credit reports, tax transcripts, credit supplements, property questionnaires, subordination requests, and title work.
Facilitate and support interactions between Sponsor applicants, loan officers, agents, and underwriters toward a timely approval, closing and funding.
Recommend and implement best practices as part of Ascent"s dedication to creating an industry-leading customer experience.
Your Skills and Experience
Experience in both Residential Construction and commercial CRE operations, risk assessment and QC, preferably in a financial services or lending institution.
Familiarity with business purpose and/or construction loan underwriting.
Good knowledge of operational risk and loan processing workflows.
Exceptional attention to detail and adherence to internal standards.
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in financial software tools, including standard LOS and servicing platforms.
The Pay
Hourly rate for this position is $28.85 - $36.06 with an additional per-loan bonus.
The Work Environment
This role works on-site from Ascent"s Encino office, Monday - Thursday (Fridays are work-from-home).
Full-time, 40 hours per week; must be available for occasional overtime.

Process residential mortgage loan files from initial application to funding, ensuring timely and accurate packaging of all loans originated by our loan officers
Review loan application and gather loan documents from the customer and third parties in support of the loan approval process, according to AUS findings, program parameters and investor guidelines
Responsible for ensuring that all loan documentation is complete, accurate, verified and complies with company and/or investor policies
Confirm that data entry in Encompass matches all loan documentation in the file
Successfully work with Loan Officers, Underwriters and Funders to ensure that loan files are submitted to underwriting within expected timelines and that loan conditions are met as required throughout each stage of the loan process
Build rapport with borrowers and provide on-going communication to the customer regarding loan status
