Robot Operator
Machine Operator Job 23 miles from Pleasant Hill
Data collection is key to our mission, and as a Robot Operator, you're essential to making that happen. Your role involves delivering high-quality, high-volume demonstrations of tasks by teleoperating our robots. You'll either lead the robot's movements, which it mirrors, or guide it using controllers we have designed. These tasks can range from something as simple as folding a batch of laundry to more complex activities like multi-step electronics assembly. Our operators are meticulously detail-oriented, possess good dexterity, and enjoy taking on new challenges. If this sounds like you, we'd love to connect!
Responsibilities
This job will require you to alternate between sitting and standing at a desk for the majority of the shift (8 hours). You will need to use both arms and hands to operate the robots. The robots are controlled by you, either by your arms, which operate as the leader and the robot arms follow to complete the task, or with a joystick-like controller. You can watch some examples of this here: ****************************************************************************
Other examples include controlling the robotic arms to:
pick up grocery items and place them in a shipping bag
pick up cups, plates, and utensils and place them in a bin
opening and closing jars
folding laundry
pick up a light bulb and screw it into a socket
There are other tasks that you may be asked to perform:
Reviewing videos of tasks being performed and using a computer interface to describe them
Providing feedback on videos of tasks being performed
Opening boxes and occasional office tasks
This is a metrics-based role. You will be expected to meet certain data collection goals throughout your shift. These tasks are repetitive and the quality of the data collection is extremely important.
Shifts
There are three shifts each lasting 8 hours, with a 30 minute lunch, and two paid breaks:
7am-3:30pm PT
3:30pm-12am PT
12am-7am PT
We are seeking individuals who can work 1 shift per day for a minimum of 4 days per week. Ideal candidates are available to work 1 shift per day for 5 days a week. The wage for this role is $25/h + benefits.
