**Essential Functions & Responsibilities:**
+ Perform change out of existing electric utility meters and installation of module upgrades to gas meters.
+ No experience is necessary, but utility meter installation and utility meter reading are preferred.
+ Ability to travel Monday through Friday in the NYSEG service areas.
+ Overtime hours may at times be required
+ Demonstrate safe, high-quality work practices in a team atmosphere
+ Performs up to standards within time frames outlined by Field Supervisor and Project Manager

+ Strong directional skills: the ability to read and understand maps via GPS instruments and websites, i.e., Garmin's, Google Maps, Waze, etc.
+ Computer and smartphone literate.
+ Ability to read maps and navigate in congested areas.
+ Independently manage time and workload to meet deadlines.
+ This is a minimum 40-hour workweek with Saturdays considered inclement weather make-up days.
**Education & Experience:**
+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
+ Mechanical and/or electrical experience preferred.
+ Experience in the use of hand and power tools.
+ 3+ years of driving experience with minimal non-moving violations.
**License & Certifications:**
+ A Valid Driver's License is required.
+ Valid Driver's License: Must have a clean Driving Record, free of any moving violations within the three years and without any suspensions (for any reason); minimal non-moving violations (less than three within the last five years)

As a Utility Meter Technician, you will perform the change out of existing electric meters. Install module upgrades to gas meters and assume responsibility for the safe operation of a company vehicle, equipment, and tools.
