The DevInfra team is Mixpanel's platform engineering team. Our mission is to be a force multiplier for Mixpanel engineering as a whole. We achieve this by partnering with our engineering teams to build a world-class software development lifecycle together.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced engineer with a strong track record of solving tooling pain points, automating away toil, and designing systems to help teams deliver software faster, more safely, and more reliably. You possess the skills and credibility to lead our engineering team by example and are energized by mentoring and supporting your fellow engineers. Frequent forays into uncharted territory require our team to be highly adaptable and always ready to learn. We serve as trailblazers for the rest of Mixpanel engineering.
Responsibilities
We partner with a wide variety of teams to build out their software development lifecycle to be optimized for speed, safety, and reliability. We support teams writing front-end UI code as well as teams maintaining our highly stateful storage systems deep in our stack.
We support systems that ingest more than 1 trillion user-generated events every month while ensuring end-to-end latencies of under a minute. Mixpanel queries typically scan more than 1 Quadrillion events over the span of a month. More details in this blog post.
Mixpanel runs entirely on Google Cloud Platform and Google Kubernetes Engine. DevInfra is the overall admin for our cloud environment, so we wear many hats. We are responsible for things like Terraform, cost management, networking, and security best practices.
We are the overall service owner for Kubernetes. Individual teams are responsible for maintaining and monitoring their own clusters and workloads. We are responsible for setting standards for deployment, observability, and developer experience. We facilitate efforts like Kubernetes version upgrades and helping teams adopt new Google Kubernetes Engine features.
Service ownership of our observability pipelines. We have instrumented over 30 million Prometheus metrics time series and use Open Telemetry to ingest over 4 billion distributed tracing spans per month. An example: How We Migrated from StatsD to Prometheus in One Month.
We maintain our GitHub Actions based CI/CD pipelines. We maintain a robust GitHub-native delivery process that empowers teams to self-serve their needs while ensuring safety and reliability. See this blog post as an example.
We maintain our devbox system that provisions cloud development environments for individual developers.
We procure best-in-breed SaaS tooling for the rest of engineering. We own our relationship with GitHub, Honeycomb, Chronosphere, Sentry, and more.

We're Looking For Someone Who Has
8+ years of coding experience.
Expert in at least one programming language ecosystem. Preferably Go, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Production experience managing Kubernetes at scale.
Production experience managing infrastructure in a major cloud provider such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, or Azure. Preferably Google Cloud Platform.
Proficiency with observability solutions like OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Distributed Tracing for application monitoring and performance analysis.

Compensation
The amount listed below is the total target cash compensation (TTCC) and includes base compensation and variable compensation in the form of either a company bonus or commissions. Variable compensation type is determined by your role and level. The Role
The Finance Team supports and empowers Palantirians through both day-to-day operations and a solution oriented approach to problem solving. The Role
The Finance Team supports and empowers Palantirians through both day-to-day operations and a solution oriented approach to problem solving. As a member of the Revenue Team, you will be responsible for guiding your customer & deal portfolio through the quote-to-cash process, analyzing and reviewing complex revenue transactions, as well as continually refining our revenue recognition policies. You will need to be able to articulate revenue guidance clearly while supporting legal and deal team on contract drafting to maximize revenue. You will also provide direction on technical revenue accounting issues and be able to explain the accounting impact to the internal stakeholders across various teams including Business Development/Sales, Legal, and Finance during the contract negotiation process. You will work closely with Sales, Finance, and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure the health of your portfolio and participate in global month/quarter end revenue close.
You are a hands on self-starter who loves to collaborate, and who is always looking to improve upon the status quo. The position requires strong technical, analytical, attention to details and communication skills.
Core Responsibilities
* Manage the revenue recognition process from the contract negotiation phase to financial statement disclosure
* Partnering with Legal and Sales teams to optimize contractual structures to achieve business objectives while ensuring compliance with policies and revenue recognition rules
* Exercise judgment while ensuring that accounting conclusions are documented in technical memos in accordance with policies and current software revenue recognition rules
* Drive revenue and cost of revenue month-end close process by creating and validating accruals, preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring policy compliance and developing standard reports
* Provide technical guidance, training, and support to the Finance, Legal, and Business Development/Sales teams
* Work actively with internal and external auditors to ensure that revenue recognition policies and interpretations are consistent and adhere to GAAP
* Identify, champion, and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to revenue processes, including systems, reporting, analysis
* Partnering with business leadership and the Sales/Finance team on revenue forecasting processes
What We Value

* Proficiency with NetSuite and/or other revenue recognition accounting systems

* Extensive experience in application of ASC 606, specifically in the application to enterprise software-as-a-service
* 5+ years' experience within a large public accounting firm and/or a small to mid-size enterprise software company
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in business administration, economics, finance, accounting, or related field

The estimated salary range for this position is estimated to be $90,000 - $140,000/year. The Role
Palantir is at the forefront of some of the most critical and challenging problems in the world. We develop alongside our customers everyday. Our customers span from the cloud to the frontline. This role requires an experienced software engineer who is well versed in low-level development in compiled languages such as Rust, C/C++ or Go. A successful candidate can optimize software in constrained embedded devices or across large-scale distributed systems. You should have strong knowledge of computer architecture and OS internals.

Deployment Strategists are responsible for turning that hunch into reality.
What We Do
As a Deployment Strategist, you'll work as part of a driven and creative team of Engineers, Product Designers, and other Deployment Strategists to deploy software against the most exciting problems our world faces. Your mission is to synthesize disconnected streams of thought into an understanding of what the most important problem is, what the data means, what the product needs, what users are motivated by, and where the impact could be.
You'll immerse yourself in our customers' most intricate workflows. You'll partner with customer teams and explore the data, and plunge into the product landscape to enable us to scale. A select number of Deployments Strategists may also be deployed to Palantir internal teams and problems. In this role, the problems you'll seek will require a curious and analytical approach, a sharp intuition for product, and a strong degree of user insight to ultimately empower our customers to improve decisions.
