Job Description CTC Group is seeking Farsi Operational Language Analysts (OLA), levels 1-4, to translate, analyze, and interpret language materials, including communications and documents, in support of intelligence operations. Locations: Annapolis Junction / Ft. Meade Responsibilities The Operational Language Analyst performs tasks required to process voice and/or graphic language materials in support of SIGINT Operations. Analyze and interpret language materials to identify relevant intelligence information. Recover essential elements of information. Render translations and/or transcripts based on straightforward, factual written and/or spoken material. Translating and/or transcribing complex and sophisticated written and/or spoken material. Gisting complex and sophisticated written and/or spoken material. Performing quality control review of translations and transcripts of complex and sophisticated written and spoken material. Provide cultural and contextual insights to enhance the understanding of translated materials. Support operations with language expertise, ensuring accurate and meaningful translations. Prepare detailed reports and briefings based on translated materials and linguistic analysis. Contribute to the development of intelligence assessments and operational planning. Work closely with intelligence analysts, field operatives, and other team members to ensure accurate and timely information dissemination. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support mission objectives. Provide language and cultural training to team members as needed. Requirements Active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance ILR skill level validation shall be documented within two (2) years prior to resume submission. One (1) year experience typing on an English keyboard. Level 1 Qualifications High School Diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED), or equivalent from other countries. Two (2) years full-time experience performing cryptologic language processing in the required language. One (1) of the two (2) years' experience, translating and/or transcribing, and gisting shall be the primary duties. Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Skill Level 2 in Audio Translation Performance and/or Translation Performance from the required language into standard American English. Scores from the MPO Civilian Language Test of Record, valid at time of resume submission, may be used as acceptable validation for text translation and audio translation skill level(s). Level 2 Qualifications Associate of Arts (AA)/ Associate of Science (AS) degree, or equivalent from other countries. In lieu of the Associate's Degree, an additional two (2) years of directly related, applied, practical work experience may be substituted. Four (4) years full-time experience in Cryptologic Operations performing language processing in the required language(s). Two (2) of the four (4) years' experience, translating and/or transcribing, and gisting shall be the primary duties. No more than one (1) year of the required four (4) years, reporting shall be the primary duty. Two (2) of the four (4) years' experience shall be within four (4) years of resume submission. Job Description BluePath Labs is a fast growing research and management consulting company focused on the challenging research problems for both government and private sector clients. BluePath is looking for one (1) Defense Research Analyst Intern to support open-source research in the defense and military aerospace sectors. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen to apply. These internships are year-around with possible full-time employment after one's graduation. There are no end-dates for the internship. The Defense Research Analyst Intern must be able to read and translate source documents and publications in Mandarin. There is no specific undergraduate or graduate degree major requirement but there is a preference for candidates with previous technical analysis of the Chinese aerospace and defense sectors. The Defense Research Analyst Intern will report to a BluePath Research Analyst and work as a part of a team on data collection, developing a keyword searchable database and reference system, and supporting research analysis. This position is primarily remote with occasional in-person team meetings and work events at BluePath offices near Foggy Bottom at 2101 L ST NW. Washington, D.C. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: Data collection, scanning, and entry. Open-source research and analysis Required Qualifications: U.S. citizen Junior/Senior undergraduate, currently in a Masters program or a recent graduate. Strong Mandarin reading and translating skills. (ILR 2+ or HSK 5) Commit to at least 15-25hrs/week and 5-6 months. Intellectually curious with strong attention to detail. Personal initiative and drive. Able to work independently with minimal oversight while meeting weekly goals. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other database products. Preferred Qualifications Able to be an intern until May 2023. ILR 3+ for Reading/Writing or HSK 6. Previous research and data collection with Mandarin publications. Previous research and technical analysis of PLA defense sectors. Coding language such as python. Interest in data science and data visualizations.
