Job Description:
Chrome Plating: You will be loading and unloading bumpers on the chrome plating conveyor belt. This department will have you taking a fully assembled bumper out of a dunnage rack, placing that bumper on the conveyor belt. You will lock the bumper in place so the machine can lift the bumper and dip it in chrome. At the end of the conveyor belt, you will be unlocking the bumper from the carousel and placing it into another dunnage rack. Conveyor belts cannot slow down or be stopped, so you must work at a steady pace to produce these bumpers. Each bumper weighs approximately 25-30 lbs. Painting: In this department, employees are hanging bumpers on to conveyor belts that move through a painting machine. Once this is completed, you will independently lift the bumper and place it on a table. From there, you will be using manual paint brushes to ensure the inside of the bumper has been painted correctly. Machines are not perfect, so we need you to have a keen eye for detail. As you see a spot that was missed, you will apply touch up paint. Once this is completed, we use a wet cloth containing a chemical solution which is used to wipe up any extra paint. A second (dry) cloth will be used to remove any residue, smudges, or chemicals. Each bumper weighs approximately 25-30 lbs. You will be working independently or with a partner.
Service Packaging: This department is the final stage before bumpers are shipped out to FCA, GM, and Ford. We must use attention to detail ensuring the labels match the bumper and the box being used. Here you will be wrapping bumpers to protect them, building up boxes, attaching labels, palletizing, and shrink wrapping. Each bumper weighs approximately 25-30 lbs - when in a box, they weigh about 35-40 lbs. You will be working independently or with a partner.
