Your role will involve calculating accruals for premium tax liabilities, filing fees, and guaranty assessments, and posting the appropriate journal entries. Assisting in reconciling these liabilities to supporting documentation will also be key. Collaboration across departments is essential. You will help coordinate efforts with Legal, Compliance, and Actuarial teams to support statutory filing requirements, data calls, and surveys. Maintaining an up-to-date tax calendar with all return and payment due dates is crucial, as is monitoring legislative and regulatory changes that impact premium tax forms and rates. You'll request various compliance documents from states of domicile and respond to inquiries from state insurance and tax departments. The role also includes researching and developing process improvements, supporting financial reporting, assisting with audits, and taking on additional duties as assigned. Proficiency with general ledger systems, Excel, Word, Access, and other applicable business software is required to succeed in this position. Qualifications What do you offer? * Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or similar business-related field required. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement. * Minimum 5 years' experience in an accounting or finance role. Tax experience, specifically in corporate state tax or tax compliance, is preferred. * ALMI or FMLI designation plus. * Notary Public plus.
