Responds immediately to unusual or emergency situations and takes appropriate action to ensure the security and safety of personnel and property. Quickly and safely direct emergency personnel on and off the property when emergency situations occur. Maintain order and control during emergency situations. Complete all required security and safety training within 90 days of employment. Shadow and train during day, night, and weekend shifts to gain experience necessary to work independently on all shifts. Complete online courses that cover patrol, firearm safety and traffic control within 90 days of hire. Maintains proficient use of all assigned protective equipment, weapons, and life saving devices. Hold a Texas Private Security Bureau Level III Commission (Armed Security Officer) throughout employment. Responsible for providing individual firearm and carrying it at all times while on duty. Documents calls for service via the telephone or walk-in complaints by obtaining pertinent facts and determining appropriate response. Writes and inputs reports into the department's computer system to allow for follow-up investigation or clearance to made in the case. Makes NCIC/TCIC inquiries as they apply to the specific report. Informs complainants that an official offense/incident report has been filed, gives complainants service numbers, and explains the departmental complaint process. Photographs and registers sex offenders. Participates in the crime scene reporting process by taking photographs, dusting for fingerprints, logging physical evidence and completing evidence reports. Uses the Penal Code in assisting Police Officers with traffic control, responding to low priority (level 3 &4) calls and performs security patrols. Uses interview techniques when interacting with citizens concerning various elements of the law (property, white collar crime, drug crimes, etc.). Enhances public safety and supports police operations by performing fieldwork in all weather conditions. The air carrier or representative meeting the carts at the aircraft will inspect the seal for signs of tampering prior to breaking it. 13. In the event a seal shows signs of tampering or are discovered broken, the suspect cart must be searched for weapons, explosives, and other dangerous devices prior to loading on aircraft. 14. All seals must be stored in a locked container and protected from unauthorized access. 15. Notify or ensure immediate Law Enforcement Officer and/or Airline Ground Security Coordinator notification when necessary. 16. Ensure safe handling of dangerous or deadly weapons/objects discovered until arrival of the Law Enforcement Officer. 17. Contact Law Enforcement Officer if items of contraband (illegal items) are discovered during the screening process. Maintain control of items until arrival of the L.E.O. 18. Report all Government tests, real weapons, injuries and other major incidents to supervisor immediately. 19. Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs. 20.
